Can I take part?
We aim to have 800 participants take part in the STATIC trial
Not everyone will be able to take part in this study, and some tests will need to be completed first to see whether you are able to take part. These include:
- People with CLL who have been treated on the NHS with ibrutinib as their second or subsequent line of treatment for CLL.
- FLAIR participants who have completed FLAIR and were treated with ibrutinib as their first line of treatment.
If you fit one of the above criteria and your hospital doctor believes your CLL has been well controlled for at least one year, you may be invited to join the trial.
Not everyone will be able to take part in this study, and some tests will need to be completed first to see whether you are able to take part. These include:
- Blood tests for your CLL, kidneys and liver
- Physical examination, including of your lymph nodes and spleen
- Pregnancy test (only if you are female and able to have children)
Therefore, you would probably need to have one or two extra clinic visits to get these tests done and decide whether you want to take part. Please talk to your hospital doctor or nurse team if you are interested.
For more detail about taking part in the STATIC trial, we have a Patient Information Sheet stored under the “Further Information” tab. To visit this tab, click here.
