Support

The BLISS project is funded by Blood Cancer UK.

Being diagnosed with multiple myeloma or any type of blood cancer can be a particularly stressful time for patients as well as their families and friends.

We have included some resources below which you may find helpful.

Blood Cancer UK (BCUK) is a UK charity supporting people with all types of blood cancer.

The support service nurses can be contacted via phone on 0808 2080888 or via e-mail or webform.

Myeloma UK is a UK charity dedicated to providing support to patients and their families, as well as advocating for improved access to treatment.

They offer a dedicated Info Line (0800 980 3332), where specialists can answer myeloma-related questions and offer emotional support.

Additional services include the ‘Ask the Nurse’ email support and the ‘Peer Buddy Service’, which connects individuals with others who have similar experiences.

Cancer Research UK (CRUK)

CRUK fund research and develop evidence-based policies to help inform government decisions related to cancer and research. They also offer valuable information on clinical trials, along with comprehensive support resources for all types of cancer, including guidance on treatment and managing the emotional, physical, and practical challenges associated with the disease.

If you would like further information about clinical trials, the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (a partnership of organisations working together on clinical research in the UK) and the National Institute for Health Research have published THIS BOOKLET entitled ‘Understanding Clinical Trials’.
